Open Bodybuilding star Nick Walker is gearing up for the upcoming Mr. Olympia competition with a renewed determination to take home the coveted title. With less than three months left until the event, Walker and his fellow competitors are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations. In a recent YouTube video, Walker gave fans a glimpse into his daily eating routine, which consists of six carefully planned meals.
After a stellar rookie season in 2021, where he claimed gold at both the New York Pro and Arnold Classic, Walker burst onto the Men’s Open scene with his impressive physique, featuring freakish proportions and massive legs. He carried this momentum into his first Mr. Olympia show, finishing in fifth place. However, he didn’t rest on his laurels and instead focused on making improvements to his physique during the off-season.
Walker’s hard work paid off when he placed third at the Mr. Olympia competition in December, behind Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan. Despite a quick turnaround, Walker fell short at the 2023 Arnold Classic, losing to Samson Dauda. While the defeat was a setback, Walker remains determined to bounce back stronger than ever.
In various interviews and podcast appearances, Walker has singled out Choopan as his biggest threat to achieving his dream. He believes that the finals will ultimately come down to a showdown between himself and Lunsford. With just a few months to go until they face off on stage, Walker recently revealed the six-meal diet that is fueling his contest preparation.
For his first meal, Walker starts the day with MegaFit steak, bananas, sushi rice, ground cinnamon, pink salt, and a blueberry muffin from Dunkin Donuts. His pre-workout meal consists of MegaFit chicken, jasmine rice, olive oil, mustard, pink salt, ground cinnamon, 100 grams of pineapple, and various supplements.
After his workout, Walker refuels with MegaFit chicken, cream of rice, Trader Joe’s almond butter, frozen blueberries, and additional supplements. His fourth meal consists of MegaFit chicken, sushi rice, olive oil, pink salt, cinnamon, and pineapple. The fifth meal includes MegaFit chicken, rice, olive oil, pink salt, and ground cinnamon. Finally, for his last meal of the day, Walker enjoys MegaFit chicken, almond butter, sushi rice, ground cinnamon, and pink salt.
With the official start of contest preps, there are many questions surrounding this year’s Mr. Olympia. Fans are eager to see if Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay, the former two-time champion, can reclaim his title. In addition to his diet, Walker recently joined Flex Lewis and Derek Lunsford to discuss the upcoming competition. Walker believes that if Lunsford slips even slightly, he will surpass him on the scorecards. While he acknowledges that he matches up well with Lunsford in terms of muscularity, he admits that Lunsford has the edge in terms of shape.
On the other hand, Lunsford doesn’t see Walker placing as high and predicts that Samson Dauda and Walker will be fighting for third and fourth place. Veteran bodybuilders like Ronnie Coleman and Samir Bannout have also backed Lunsford as the favorite. However, Walker has never dropped in placings at the Mr. Olympia, leaving fans excited to see if he can maintain his streak.
With his rigorous training and carefully planned diet, Walker is determined to bring his biggest and best physique to the Mr. Olympia stage in just a few months. Fans can’t wait to see him in action.
